The Austin Air HealthMate Plus is great for those with chemical sensitivities, such as MCS. It is as durable and efficient as the HealthMate, but capable of filtering more particles. The Healthmate Plus uses a 15 lb. mixture of activated Carbon, Zeolite, and Potassium. This combines with 60 sq. ft. of medical HEPA cloth and Austin Air's 360 degree air-intake to provide the most enhanced removal of volatile organic compounds such as ammonia, formaldehyde, and benzene. The 360 degree air-intake absorbs air from every direction and passes it through a 4-stage filter, removing both the largest and smallest particles. This guarantees the removal of 99.97% of unwanted air pollutants. The HealthMate Plus is made with a sturdy steel body, reducing the risk of further chemical sensitivity caused by plastic casings. It also boasts an energy-efficient PSC motor, built to reduce electricity consumption. The HealthMate Plus removes submicron particles in up to a 1,500 sq. ft. area. Austin Air HealthMate Plus Filter

The Austin Air HealthMate Plus uses a large particle pre-filter to capture visible particles such as hair and dust. Its Permafilt pre-filter then removes medium to small particles. The activated Carbon and Zeolite impregnated with Potassium Iodide and the medical HEPA cloth creates a 4 inch thick filter that removes almost all dangerous particles larger than 0.3 microns.
