There is a major problem with the cheap steel uncoated fuel tank on this generator. I purchased it new and the fuel tank had rust over 100% of it within a few years. I always use StaBil and Super Unleaded Shell fuel. I change the fuel out. I have had other equipment with steel fuel tanks that never rusted. I applied a top quality 3 part epoxy fuel tank coating process and that rusted off as well. I just spent $300 on a new Generac OEM fuel tank. Fuel valve extremely hard to rotate as well.
I worked for Generac, industrial, but I was familiar with development of the portables and anticipate no problems
After talking to Generac themselves about my needs for power during a power outage we narrowed down the choices to one, the XG10000e. Then the customer service representative suggested that I contact factory pure to get a factory reconditioned unit and save money. I contacted Factory Pure and after further information regarding the factory reconditioned units that were available I order one. Two weeks later it showed up on my driveway. After upackaging and looking for any damage I found none. After reading the manual I assembled the wheels and stand, connected the batter and added oil and a couple gallons of gas. At first it wouldn't start so I called Factory pure and the representative was very helpful. We double checked the choke the cold weather setting on the air cleaner and added more gas. pressed start and it started right up. Hooked up the generator tot he house and it ran everything, so happy. I would definitely recommend Factory pure and Generac.
