The Grizzly H2878Z is a 5-1/8 inch spiral cutterhead designed for shapers, built to deliver a cleaner, smoother cut with reduced tearout. Its spiral layout helps improve surface finish on demanding woodworking tasks, making it a strong upgrade from a conventional cutterhead.
This cutterhead uses 54 extra-thick solid carbide inserts, and each indexable insert offers four cutting edges that can be rotated when one side becomes dull or chipped. That design helps maintain cutting performance while reducing interruptions during regular shop use.
