The Grizzly T27697 is an 8-inch helical cutterhead designed to upgrade compatible jointers for smoother, cleaner cutting performance. It fits Grizzly G0490 and G0490X 8-inch jointers and uses 40 indexable carbide inserts arranged in a helical pattern for a shearing cut.
Compared with straight-knife cutterheads, this design helps reduce noise, improve dust collection, and leave a noticeably finer finish, even on difficult hardwoods. The angled cutting action produces a glassy-smooth surface while reducing the tear-out often seen with conventional knives.
