This process does not require any tools or a plumber. Disconnect the tank from the bypass valve and unscrew the distributor head from the tank by hand, then dump out the expired media.
Pour the new replacement media in the tank, follow the start up backwashing and media soak instructions and you're ready to go.

i had trouble with the rubber O ring , the new one was round and not exactly the same as the original one i had on my tank(original pelican head and tank) which was round with some fine grooves ,so it leaked after installation when i connected the system, so i had to go back to the one i had originally on the tank.
