After nearly being Killed in the line of duty Memorial weekend 2009, I purchased the 3 wheel Zip R' Roo 3 wheel mobility scooter from Ebay. I found the scooter so nimble there was no stopping it indoors and could "turn on a dime", even in our small house with small doorways. The speed control also made is go pretty fast outdoors and quick stopping when you release the paddle on the handle bar. I found the removable front basket to be Very handy to carry food and snacks, as well as the charger for long trips. When my Wife and I were on a Carnival cruise, I met 2 other people who had the Zip R' scooter too. 1 Gentleman also rigged a small trailer the size of a sideways skateboard with wheels so his wife could stand on it to ride behind her husband. (Cool Idea!) for the money, you just can not put a price on "Mobility, comfort, and longevity". The batteries can be sourced off Ebay or Amazon to change out in a few years when the current batteries no longer hold a charge. The D.Y.I. project takes about 10-15 minutes and a #2 Phillips screw driver and about 8 screws on the battery case.
