Zoom Scale
Easy set up and start up. It has enough power to power our 2200 sq ft home and at a 1/4 of the cost for an installed version. Also, If we were to move, it goes with us!
I bought the Generac last September from this company a 17500e for home use. It was delivered in good shape. I needed a gasoline unit (no natural gas available). The motor runs great! I think it uses about 1.4 gallons per hour in non-idle capacity. The problem is service after the sale. This compnay provides no services or repair according to my conversation with staff on 07-11-2022. My unit has an overheating problem on the 50 amp. breaker switch (not the motor). It has had this problem since day one, but it took me about 14 hours of use recently (power outage) to discover it was the unit, not me. When the 50 amp. circuit breaker gets hot, not overloaded. It trips and will not re-set until the ambient temperature goes lower. Texas is hot and the air-cooled motor his hot. I would have packed the circuit breaker board in ice but melting ice and electrical are not good. Smile! I saw the Generac17500e has similar problems on internet. All the other plugs do work if you want to plug in a lot of extension cords and leave your doors windows unsecured for routing. I have found very few people in Houston, Texas (including those suggested by Generac) University Lawn and Aztec Rental that will touch this unit. You will have to deliver the 500lb unit to their store for service (I was hoping to at least wait for the 50-hour for valve adjustment). One store said just use a forklift! They basically said, "We will take a look at it" One of these recommended that I call Home Depot service department. I did, they sell them but do not fix them! Generac cs said will not sell you parts directly. I think the circuit breaker is on an integrated board and not plug and play? I was unable to get a technical person on the phone at Generac to verify. They only sell parts to the stores that repair them. One store recommended by Generac (Not above) said we just work on motors. I recommend you only buy from a retail vendor that will service the unit after they sell it (skin in the game). You could also buy from a big box store and if it does not work, take it back. Check store policy prior to purchase. I called the store I purchased the unit from. They said," We just sell them". They said if you have a problem, call Generac. Generac customer service said to call a certified or trained dealers (which are not owned by Generac). I offered to send the unit from Texas to Wisconsin (Corporate headquarters for repairs). I was told we manufacture and do not repair our units. I do not blame them its' broken, they don't want it either. I spoke to Colton at Generac on the weekend, and he was friendly. I called back on Monday and spoke with a very curt woman. Maybe she was having a bad day. If any of you know repair people who can do simple on-site Generac repairs at my expense, I am all ears! I think Generac would also like to have it for their short list.
Was as ordered, on time, delivered when promised
All good.
Excellent Generator. It powers our entire house through 30A hook-up. A/C, Furnace, Hot water heater, Stove, Microwave, TV's, Lights, Washer, Dryer. Wifi, Computers, Everything. I had to purchase a 100 FT 30 Amp cable to keep Generator in the back yard and away from thieves, but worth the cost to have portability. The cable is shown also in picture.
